Development of plant virus-derived nanoparticles displaying multivalent nanobodies

Dr. Merwaiss received his PhD in biotechnology at the University of San Martín, Argentina, developing viral vectors for protein expression in insect and mammalian cells. In October 2020 he joined the group of Jose-Antonio Darós at the Institute of Molecular and Cellular Biology of Plants, Spain, as a post-doctoral researcher, where he started working in the field of molecular farming, focusing on the use of plant viral vectors to express proteins in N. benthamiana biofactories. In particular, he is currently working on the development of viral nanoparticles as platforms for protein display.
